    "Invalid survey identifier" message

     Hi Tom

    we have embedded this survey

    http://fs.nana10.co.il/fs.aspx?surveyid=0f7f338cf8e4905853e4a5547c68bbd

in a web page with an iframe here

    http://gamer.nana10.co.il/Article/?ArticleID=738246

but some of our users tells us they receive the message "Invalid survey identifier, please contact the survey administrator".

later on we have shorten the link of the survey to this

    http://fs.nana10.co.il/fs-lunapark.aspx

but they still got this massage. what could be the reason for this?

     Thanks

    Ilana

    Hi,

I've just had a look but everything looked good did the user receive the message after doing some actions on the page or the first time they have loaded it ?

It's strange. I made another survey, here

    http://israblog.nana10.co.il/blogread.asp?blog=663742&blogcode=11997110

and still some users report they get this massage. and they do not do anything special. just watch the page.

    Hi,

if you are using a cluster version did you make sure to disable the feedbackserver cache from the feedbackserverconfig section on all cluster node installation web.configs ?

     do you mean this -

    serverCaching="true" in Web.configs?

    Hi,

yes set it to false if you are in a cluster or set the cacheTimeOut to a couple of minutes only because if you're in a cluster cached data is not propagated to all the nodes as such if you make a change on node 1 and leave caching on or to an unlimited time out this change will not be visible if a user hits the server on node 2 for example.

we were afraid to remove the cash, so we configured cacheTimeOut  to two minutes, but still, some users report about getting the error massage.

    Hi,

maybe the user who see the message dont get the full url ? Because this message only appears when the ID of the url is not correct and that the survey can't be found. What happen if you completly disable the cache ? No need to be afraid.

    Re: "Invalid survey identifier" message

I asked them to send me the source of the page they see, and it's the same as the one that I see. just an iframe with the same URL of survey, which I see correctly. the problem occurred both when I embedded the survey form an article page, and when I embedded it in a blog page, which is build completely different. The only thing that is similar, is that in both cases they use Tinymce editor. buy I can't think how is it changes something.

about the cache, I will try to convince my system administrator to try it.
